The reason being, welded tantalum tube provides excellent corrosion resistance and heat transfer for chemical processing applications. Since no allowance for metal removal by corrosion is generally necessary, wall thicknesses are specified to be as thin as structural conditions will permit.

In particular, ULTRA 76 tantalum alloys offer higher corrosion resistance in most environments thus generating value by extending the products life time, reducing material thickness and improving processes throughput. For instance, higher temperatures are possible with shorter cooling/heating cycle times using ULTRA 76.

Our tantalum welded tubes offer significantly better wall thickness and concentricity control compared to seamless tubes. Why? Because the wall thickness is constant across the tube, so this eliminates weak spots where leaks occur prematurely due to corrosion.
